Finding for college laptop, Need guidance

Im going to buy a laptop soon I really have no idea about which are the better ones , can anyone give me some suggestions ?
Requirements :
Budget around 2k to 3k
I use it for college , paperworks and stuffs
Longer battery life ( probably 8 ? )
Avoid heavy ones
At least 8 GB RAM
Nice to use
