Introduction
I've heard tube amp from my friend. After researching i found that tube amp will produces smoother sound (aka digitaless sound in chinese). I was using Xonar essence STX that time. I thought Xonar Essence STX already produce the cleanest sound so i never think about changing to higher end DAC again. So, smoother sound, thats what i want. So, I went into the purchase of tube amplifier.
Again, the prices in malaysia are amazing. So i went to china trading site to find them. There are 3 competitors on TOP 3 based on sales. They are -
1. Aiqin Danyi
This one is the top selling with most customers. Since it doesn't have headphone amplification, I ignored that last time. But today i checked it again, it looks amazing. After checking Danyun M6 Amplifier's Designer's blog, there are a comparasion between this and him, and i never regret buying M6 tube amplifier instead this one.
2. Danyun M6 Tube Amplifier
Thats what i'm using. Will talk about why i choose it later.
3. Brandless DIY M6 Tube Amplifier
This only have headphone out. The reason i didn't choose this just because the number of customers not enough or the customer's equipment not high end enough compared to danyun M6 and the packaging isn't durable as danyun M6.
*There are also a tube amp like bravo tube amplifier but with build in DAC, I'm really not interested in that since i want to play with tube amplifier's sound seriously. Pointless to play with hybird when i want to go pure tube amplifier.
Why I choose Danyun M6 Tube Amplifier?
1. IMBA Packaging, will post how it packs in unboxing section later.
2. Clearly shows it uses what component
3. 800+ customers. A lot of customers are serious audiophiles who uses CD player and super high end DAC. Extremely high potential.
4. The designer is very professional in this kind of knowledge.
5. Beautiful.

7. Metal chassis. another tube amp uses aluminium and steel chassis. After researching, metal chassis is second most suitable for tube amp. The most suitable material for tube amp chassis is copper.
Thats all story before purchasing the Danyun M6 Tube Amplifier. I don't know much about audio last time. so, thats all.

The tube amp's sound is very hard to describe.
Firstly i uses Xonar Essence STX as DAC, RCA out to the Tube Amp, the sound isn't significient at all. I only found the electronic guiltar more smooth, and the treble are better. Also, the sound become very slow (tightless i think).
After changing the following cable, the sound become more smooth in all musics,due to better shielding. Piano, voices are extremely smooth.
Now, i uses Purepiper DAC A-1 as source, the sound become extremely smooth, the bass become low impact but very rich, the voice is extremely sweet![wub.gif]()
To describe in graphics, its like anti aliased curves. For food, it have ajinomotos. Yes, it does produce tuby sound, and also tube amp's special sound which our ear loves (hard to describe for this, just like describing ajinomoto's taste, its very hard right?)
After getting this power cable, the speed got fixed. The speed become normal and tight.

Conclusion
I love this tube amp very much, especially paired with my purepiper DAC A-1 (You can't hear the true potential using low end DAC), but its not suitable for people who loves bass like beats user, it only suitable for people who listen to instruments, voices etc. This amp is OK for rocks. It produces smooth sound so the peak point you won't feel uncomfortable. For any questions feel free to PM me. I really not good in describing sound.

- I personally don't know it worth the money compared to other tube amps. But I'm happy for what I paid
- High quality self-made transformer, can google for more info about self-made transformer for tube amp
- Very, very nice casing and quality casing, extremely solid build, just like factory made
- The circuit are well designed
- The rear side uses high quality banana cord
- The power cord are very firm
- Gold plated connections
- Alps volume adjuster
- Switchable input
- Very good outlook
- Very good components
Cons :
- Heavy
- Huge
- Hot
- High power consumption for a headphone amplifier
- Pretty expensive if you listen too much, it cuts the tube's life which recommended to change every 1000 hour
- Cannot turn on 24 hour
- Lack of user manual. You have to check their website for install guide
