Hopefully this guide can save you some headache, hassle and panic for finding those "Lost files" after your HDD/pendrive had been infected by virus.
IMPORTANT:
Before following this guide, make sure
1) Your PC/Laptop is FREE FROM ANY FORM OF VIRUS and MALWARE as those "unhidden-ed" files will become invisible again
2) If possible, do follow either the following guides: How to disable the Autorun functionality in Windows
Or try the program:disableautorun
to avoid your PC been infected by virus/malware through its autorun files when you try to access the infected HDD/pendrives. (no 100% guarantee immune from virus/malware as they are more and more advance and more complicated as time goes by.)
Still, it is more preferable to make the HD/pendrive free from any virus/malware.
If any user had better idea on this part please PM me.
3) Do move non-infected files to other folder where the unhidden.bat IS NOT LOCATED to save some times, as it will attempt to modify the file attributes of ALL FILES inside the same folder.
IE: The unhidden.bat is located under <G:\>, so you may create another folder under the same directory ("G:\new folder" for example)
You may move all of those non-affected files into <G:\new folder> so that the batch file will not 'waste" its time to unhide those already non-affected files.
4) Do uncheck the "hide file extension" under the "folder option" tab, chances are there was some fake files which duplicate its original name and shown as the original files while the REAL FILES had been hidden. (IE: AAA.doc & AAA.exe with .doc icon).
DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THEIR ICONS.
5) Obviously, do confirm those files are still exist in the pendrive/HDD (By checking the space of your HDD), else it might become futile to unhide non-existence files.
So here is how to do it:
So far few of our forumers had tried it and managed to unhide their files from infected HDD/pendrive using this batch file.
Not sure if appropriate, i would like to ask permission to quote their (or your) comments in here as proof that it actually works.

So here is how to do it:
QUOTE
1) download unhidden.txt and change its extension to unhidden.bat (batch file)
2)after that put it into the root directory (or other directory as you wish
) of your pendrive (IE: G:\, I:\) and double click on the unhidden.bat.
It might need some time on pendrive/HDD if the dedicated folder contains many files. Be patientand it will close down automatically once it is done.
The batch file doesn't define the dedicated directory so that it can be more "portable"
3)Once click, it should show the real folder and something extra (files with extension like Vbs, Dll, exe, log, scr) on the pendrive root folder).
DELETE ALL OF THEM if you don't need it, especially the <RECYCLER> folder which is quite frequent to become "virus liar", and those SHORTCUTs
